Jennifer Goodie, Senior Software Developer at Schematic, will be presenting a session on High Availability DB Connectivity Utilizing PHP OO Abstraction Layer at the PHP Conference this May in Amsterdam. While Jen reminds me of that girl in the Addams family, she’s the queen of PHP. I was hoping she’d also talk about Flash Remoting and PHP, but evidently that session went to someone else.
On Friday, January 21st, I was teaching a workshop on Flash video at Pasadena City College. During one of the exercises, we created FLVs from the same source video file in Sorenson Squeeze 3 (and 4) as well as Macromedia’s FLV Exporter tool. When we tried using the FLVs within a simple play/stop stream example, the Macromedia FLV file never issued a NetStream.Play.Stop status message when the stream finished playing, whereas the Sorenson FLV files did. Anyone else ever experience this? I’m a huge fan of Squeeze and Wildform Flix, and I don’t usually use Macromedia’s FLV Exporter tool.
