At the beginning of August, Adobe held a party to celebrate the official 10 year anniversary of Flash. I flew down from Portland, Oregon, just to be part of the event, and you can see part of my interview intercut with others here:

The conferences that will be held during the remainder of the year, notably Flashforward Austin (www.flashforwardconference.com), FITC Hollywood (www.fitc.ca), Adobe MAX (www.adobe.com/max) in Las Vegas, and Flash on the Beach (www.flashonthebeach.com) in Brighton Beach, UK, will more than likely have big Flash anniversary celebrations too.

It’s nice to know that after writing this book for nearly 8 years that it’s still in the top 20 list for multimedia web books at Amazon.com:

Thank you to all of our readers who have encouraged us to keep writing the book. We enjoy it immensely.

I’ll be teaching a two-day workshop at Portland State University in downtown Portland, Oregon, on August 25th and 26th, covering a wide range of Flash Video topics, from encoding to shooting green screen material (and compositing in After Effects) to delivery with the FLVPlayback component.
